Over the past few months I've been trying out a few different AI programs (Disco Diffusion, Wombo, Night Cafe, Visions of Chaos, Dall-e, etc), and specifically, have become a heavy user of MidJourney because it doesn't require a powerful computer or top of the range GPU, is easy to use, fast, relatively cheap, addictive, has a community with a strong feedback mechanism and can produce really great results. But I also see that there is a growing hysteria around AI, probably due to the explosion in AI generated images recently. The technology is really accelerating in development at the moment and it fuels anxiety about new technologies that might be difficult to understand. On the one side you have hyperbolic articles claiming that AI will put us all out of a job, and on the other you have trolls claiming that AI generated images are not Art and are being used to scam people, whilst in the middle you have people leveraging AI, Crypto & NFTs to either make a ton of money, or lose a ton
